Patsy O’Brien Returns to the Coaldale Schoolhouse

On the afternoon of Sunday, April 19, MSP (Mighty Squirrel Productions) is honored to host the return of Patsy O’Brien to the Schoolhouse. I’ve lost count of how many times he’s played at the Schoolhouse but his first show there was a few weeks before the 2020 lockdown (merely a coincidence, he’s totally innocent). He’s a wonderful songwriter, guitarist and performer and will share new songs and old favorites. He’s also a good interpreter of traditional ballads – his song “Jack ‘Brien” sounds like it could be very old, though he wrote it only a few years ago for the Durango Celtic Festival, listen here.
“His phenomenal guitar wizardry has been compared to an Irish Tommy Emmanuel. He has bridged the gap between traditional Celtic/Irish styles of guitar and more modern jazz, rock and roots/Americana influences and is also an accomplished singer-songwriter and vocalist. Plus, he’s funny and engaging in concert, with that twinkle in his eye that reaches back to the Emerald Isle”.
Advance tickets are $20 here, if any remain at the door they will be $25. Seating will be capped at 90. Doors at 3:30, concert at 4:00 pm.
