Grasshopper Identification & Control Workshop at Howard Hall
March 21 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Howard Hall will host a practical and timely Grasshopper Workshop on Saturday, March 21 from 12–2 p.m., led by Fremont County Agriculture Agent Kelsey Story. With grasshopper populations on the rise in many parts of the county, this clinic offers valuable guidance for gardeners, landowners, and anyone looking to protect their plants and pastures.
The workshop will cover:
- How to identify common grasshopper species found in Fremont County
- Life cycles and behavior that influence when and how they cause damage
- Effective control strategies, from early‑season management to larger‑scale mitigation
- Tools and techniques participants can apply immediately on their own property
The cost to attend is $5, making it an accessible opportunity to learn from a local expert and prepare for the growing season ahead.
This event is open to the public and designed for all experience levels—from backyard gardeners to acreage owners. It’s a great chance to get ahead of the season and keep those voracious hoppers in check.
