Western Fremont Historical Society – Open House

Come and enjoy Western Fremont Historical Society’s Open House at the Howard History Center on Sunday, June 28, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. or July 4^th from 11:00 to 2:00 p.m. The Howard History Center is located at 70 CR 56 (across from Howard Hall, who will be having a July 4^th celebration open to the public) in Howard, Colorado.  Free Admission.

Our featured exhibit highlights new additions to our map collection.  Come view the Colorado Territory map, search old ownership maps in the Coaldale, Hardscrabble, and Penrose areas.  Explore Colorado and Kansas through highly detailed historic maps.  Nancy Colvin Hirleman’s historical map of Custer County will also be on display.  Visit with our Historian, ask questions, and share your memories of our area.  We look forward to seeing you there!
