SUMMARY:Heritage Apple Tree Grafting Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The Western Fremont Historical Society is offering a rare opportunity for local growers\, backyard orchardists\, and curious beginners to learn the art of grafting heritage apple trees. This hands‑on workshop\, Heritage Apple Tree Grafting\, will be held Sunday\, April 12\, 2026\, from 1–3 PM at the Coaldale Community Building. \nParticipants will learn how to graft heritage apple scion onto rootstock\, how to care for newly grafted trees\, and how to successfully plant and maintain them in a home garden or orchard. Each attendee will graft two apple trees to take home\, with additional rootstock and scion available for purchase during the class. \nThe workshop fee is $10 per person\, and space is limited to 20 participants\, ensuring plenty of one‑on‑one guidance. Students should bring a very sharp knife\, rags to keep rootstock moist\, and a bucket or pail for transporting their trees home. \nTo register or request more information\, contact Cinde McPhail at 719‑239‑4665 or cmcphail222@gmail.com\, or sign up online at the Fremont Conservation District’s website.
