SUMMARY:Cotopaxi Lions Club Celebrates 20 Years!
DESCRIPTION:Falling Into 20 Years of Lions Club Service\nOPENINGS STILL AVAILABLE\nFor two decades\, the Cotopaxi Lions Club has been a steady force of goodwill in our valley — supporting local families\, strengthening community programs\, and showing up wherever help is needed. This October\, they’re celebrating that milestone in true Lions Club fashion: with good food\, good company\, and a whole lot of heart. \nThe celebration takes place on Saturday\, October 3\, 2026\, at Cutty’s Campground in Coaldale\, a perfect autumn setting for an evening of gratitude and fun. Guests are invited to arrive for a social hour and cash bar at 5:00 PM\, followed by a full dinner and the 20‑year celebration program at 6:00 PM. \nThe menu is a crowd‑pleaser — sirloin tips\, a potato bar\, salad bar\, and dessert bar — and the evening will feature entertainment\, prizes\, and a raffle to keep the festivities lively. Tickets are $40 per person\, and while RSVPs are required and were originally due by September 1 to help the Lions plan for the event\, I was informed that openings still are available (as of Friday 9/25) so – don’t hesitate to call! \nIn the spirit of community partnership\, Cutty’s Campground is offering 50% off lodging for anyone attending the celebration weekend. Whether you’re local or coming in from out of town\, it’s a great chance to enjoy a all getaway while honoring the Lions’ 20 years of service. \nTo RSVP\, contact Melodi Tezak at 719‑942‑4156 or Betsy Denny at 719‑942‑3679.To reserve lodging\, call Cutty’s Campground at 719‑942‑4222 and mention Cotopaxi Lions Club. \nTwenty years of service is no small feat — and this celebration is a wonderful way to honor the volunteers who have made it possible. The Lions have given so much to Cotopaxi and the surrounding communities; now it’s our turn to celebrate them. \nPlease reference the flyer for the full details!

SUMMARY:Pleasant Valley’s First Community Dinner
DESCRIPTION:Pleasant Valley is setting the table for something special. On Sunday\, October 18th\, from 4:30 to 6:30 PM\, the community will gather at the Howard Volunteer Fire Department for the valley’s first‑ever Pleasant Valley Community Dinner — a potluck celebration designed to bring neighbors together while supporting local emergency services. \nThis inaugural event invites everyone to bring an entrée or side dish to share. Drinks and dessert will be provided\, making it easy for families and individuals to join in without fuss. The goal is simple: enjoy a meal together\, strengthen community connections\, and support the volunteers who keep Pleasant Valley safe. \nTickets are just $1\, a symbolic price meant to welcome everyone. They can be purchased online or at three local businesses: A Fresh Cut\, Dusty Rose Roadhouse\, and Sugarbush Liquor Store. Additional donations are gratefully accepted\, with all proceeds going directly to the Howard Volunteer Fire Department to help purchase Progressive Hose Packs — essential equipment that improves firefighter mobility and efficiency during wildland and structure fire responses. \nThe event is generously supported by several local sponsors\, including Dusty Rose Roadhouse\, Copper Gulch Design\, Precision‑Line Service\, Sugarbush Liquor Store\, Luna\, and The Jonke Family. Their contributions help ensure the evening is welcoming\, well‑supplied\, and memorable. \nWhether you’re new to the valley or have lived here for generations\, this dinner is a chance to share a meal\, meet your neighbors\, and support the people who serve our community when it matters most. Pleasant Valley’s first community dinner promises to be the start of a tradition worth savoring.
